About Us
We are a family of animal lovers
Our Story
We are a family of animal lovers. We grew up with animals and believe whenever we take in a pet, we take responsibility to ensure it lives the best life possible. We believe that animals should have free roam of our house, which certainly comes with challenges.
We started My Dog Sadie out of desire to create better products that help to enable dogs, cats, and kids to live together in harmony. Our first challenge was when we added kids to the house of 3 cats. A new challenge came when we added dogs Sadie, and then Carly. Layer on two bearded dragons and we find ourselves with many co-habitation challenges.
The first challenge we decided to address was trying to keep the dogs from snacking on the contents of the cat litter box. Out of this our first product, the Doggie Deflector(™), was born.
Our Animals
Eight Animals, One House
Sadie
Meet Sadie our first rescue dog. She had a lot to learn when she came to us and taught us that with patience, comes reward. She needed potty training and socialization, especially with people. Through consistent positive reward training, she became the confident household queen she is today.
Carly
This is Carly, our newest addition. She came to us from Saving Grace rescue as a 3 month old puppy, adding a whole new level of chaos to the house.
Froggy
Froggy was the name given to this kitten when we adopted him from the Wake County SPCA in 2013. Froggy is one-minute a bully, and the next a scaredy cat. A lovable little tiger.
Jerry
Jerry is a cousin or maybe brother of Froggy. They were rescued together by the SPCA but were among several litters of similar ages, so its unknown whether they are related or not. Jerry is our talker who loves to be scratched on his chin.
Jewelly
Jewelly was found with Millie as kittens and lived at our Vet's clinic for nearly a year. They are a very tightly bonded pair and the Vet was struggling to find a home to send them together. We had just sent our beloved Patty to the Rainbow bridge and allowed ourselves to take these two in.
Millie
Millie, also known as "Fluffybutt", was rescued in December 2019 with her sister Jewelly. This is the look she gives when its a fraction of a second past dinner time.
Georgy
Georgy is a Bearded Dragon we found as a juvenile stray. Yes, a stray beardy. Poor thing had been living out in the elements for weeks until our kids came upon him and recognized he looked a little out of place. We set him up in a forever home with lots of heat and regular meals.
Draco
We enjoyed Georgy so much we took in another Bearded Dragon, named Draco. We got him as just a tiny boy and have watched him grow to adult.
